About
Jamie Miller
Jamie was born in 1963, in Okinawa, Japan, to American parents,
and grew up in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Miller
comes by her cooking expertise honestly; not only does she have
a natural flair for cooking, she also holds a degree in Nutrition
and Dietetics from the University
of Minnesota, and a degree in Hospitality Management from the
University of
Wisconsin - Stout.
When
not working on recipes for her cookbooks, Miller is trying out recipes
she's developed for cooking contests. She's won more than $80,000
in cash and prizes over the past eight years.
Awards
she has won include the grand prize at both the 2000
Build A Better Burger Cook-Off and the 2004 Florida Citrus Cook-Off.
She has prepared her award-winning recipes on television, including
Live
with Regis & Kelly and numerous Food
Network specials, where she continues to appear. Many of her
recipes have been published in cookbooks, newspapers, and such national
magazines as Southern
Living, Cooking
Light, Cooking
Pleasures and Bon
Appetit.
Jamie
currently lives in suburban Minneapolis Minnesota with husband Greg,
the light of their life, 3 year-old daughter Jade and their beloved
cat Sam. The Miller's are excitedly anticipating the adoption of
their second Chinese daughter in 2008. |
